Framework / Edition 3.2

Six indices. Thirty canonical submetrics.

The current Voxonomics framework measures blockchain economies across output, participation, liquidity, protocol integrity, real-world adoption and resilience. The six parent indices receive equal weight; the five submetrics within each parent use their published internal weights.

The structure of the framework

Voxonomics does not reduce a blockchain economy to one raw statistic. It measures six distinct dimensions and preserves their component evidence.

Each parent index receives exactly one-sixth of the core VTS budget in Edition 3.1. That equality applies to the six parents, not to all 30 submetrics individually.

1. Proof of Value (PoV)

PoV measures whether a network is producing verifiable, useful and sustainable economic activity. It distinguishes nominal activity from economic settlement, persistent demand and durable value capture.

POV.VCValue capture and sustainability20%90/365 days
POV.PQPersistence and activity quality15%90/365 days

2. On-Chain Participation Index (OPI)

OPI measures the breadth and quality of participation in using, securing, governing and developing a network. It focuses on productive, distributed and persistent participation rather than popularity alone.

OPI.DRDistribution and retention20%90/365 days

3. Decentralised Liquidity Index (DLI)

DLI measures whether a network supports usable, diversified and resilient on-chain liquidity. It looks beyond headline TVL toward executable depth, price impact, trading quality and concentration.

4. Protocol Integrity Index (PII)

PII measures current structural integrity: security, decentralisation, infrastructure diversity, availability, finality and controlled protocol change. It replaced the older Public Trust Index so the core measurement is based on observable protocol properties rather than sentiment.

5. Real-World Adoption Index (RWAI)

RWAI measures verifiable connections between a blockchain and economic activity outside purely endogenous crypto speculation. It includes settlement, payments, tokenised assets, adoption persistence and the integrity of external claims.

RWAI.RSReal-world settlement value25%90/365 days

RWAI.ADAdoption diversity and persistence20%180/365 days
RWAI.EIExternal-verification integrity15%Current/365 days

6. Economic Resilience Index (ERI)

ERI measures the ability of a network economy to retain essential function, absorb shocks and recover. It is historical and stress-oriented: current integrity belongs to PII; performance through adverse conditions belongs to ERI.

From raw facts to comparable measurement

Universality applies to the economic definition, not to identical raw fields. Each network can require a different adapter to obtain equivalent evidence correctly. After acquisition, the framework applies declared units, scope, transformations, normalisation, smoothing, coverage and confidence rules before an official result can be published.

That distinction is crucial: a native observation is not automatically a score, and a score calculated during research is not automatically an official publication.

How the six parents relate to VTS

The six parent indices form the Value Transfer Score (VTS), the central intrinsic network economic measurement in Edition 3.1. VTS is standardised against the Economic Reference Unit and is separate from market recognition, structural risk and evidence confidence.

No shortcut: an official VTS requires all six official parent indices and the framework's publication conditions. Missing or unimplemented evidence cannot be hidden merely to complete a ranking.

The controlling source

This guide is a searchable introduction. The Voxonomics Whitepaper — Final Publication Edition 3.2 controls the definitions, transformations, equations, exclusions and publication rules. The machine-readable metric registry in the project source records the canonical parent composition and submetric weights.

Edition 3.2 · additive architecture

Edition 3.2 is the current publication. Evidence preservation, storage and Vox-in-a-Box nodes extend the unchanged Edition 3.1 economic framework: six equally weighted parents, 30 canonical submetrics and VTS = Value Transfer Score.
