The five RWAI submetrics

RWAI.RS — Real-world settlement value · 25%

Measures verified economic settlement connected to external goods, services or claims, including payments, payroll, business settlement, trade finance, regulated financial activity and other demonstrable external use.

RWAI.SP — Stablecoin and payment use · 20%

Measures payment and treasury activity using stable-value instruments while accounting for issuer concentration, reserve quality, de-peg history, redemption and bridge dependencies.

RWAI.TA — Tokenised asset value and quality · 20%

Measures both the quantity and credibility of tokenised external assets, including issuance, redemption, holder and issuer diversity, legal enforceability, custody, reporting and oracle quality.

RWAI.AD — Adoption diversity and persistence · 20%

Measures whether external adoption spans independent organisations, sectors, jurisdictions and use cases and persists beyond pilots, announcements or short-lived campaigns.

RWAI.EI — External-verification integrity · 15%

Measures the quality of the legal, custody, oracle, reserve, reporting and redemption links needed to verify claims that originate outside the blockchain itself.

Announcements are not adoption

Partnership announcements and claimed use cases receive no quantitative credit merely because they exist. RWAI requires observed, persistent and verifiable economic evidence.

Why RWAI replaced the earlier RWA-only approach

Edition 3.1 broadened the earlier Real-World Asset concept into Real-World Adoption because external economic connection includes more than tokenised securities or assets. Payments, settlement, enterprise use and other verifiable activity also matter.

External claims need external verification. A large opaque tokenised claim is not equivalent to a smaller, independently verified and redeemable one.
